NEARLY ZERO ENERGY BUILDINGS (NZEB)

Energy efficiency is one of the challenges facing today's buildings. Energy efficiency measures and improvements are being studied and promoted in order to get closer to the ideal model of near-zero consumption, so-called nearly zero energy buildings (NZEBs).

NZEB are described as:

- Buildings with high energy efficiency.

- The energy needed would be almost zero.

- The amount of energy needed should be largely supplemented by energy from renewable sources.

So, why is it said that a EECN is a low-energy building?

In order to be able to label the buildings by their consumption, they are compared by their consumption per annual square metre:

- High : 300 kWh/m2 year

- MediuM : 150 kWh/m2 year

- Low : 50kWh/m2 year

A NZEB is a building with a consumption of less than 50kWh/m2 year, what’s more, it is usually around 15 kWh/m2 year. Even though the mission of these buildings is to reduce energy dependency, the designs of these buildings must be based on people. This building meets their needs and achieves a thermal, luminous and air & water quality comfort.

Other aspects of design that allow such low consumption and to be sustainable are the enveloping, architecture and facilities so efficient together with the use of renewable energies and our energy consumption saver ENERTEQ.

Bombila

A NEARLY ZERO ENERGY BUILDING (NZEB) is designed and built to have a negligible consumption, however, to be able to get it, it should take into account how to use it, in other words, a LED bulb is very efficient, however, the bulb that Less consume is the one that is off.

As for lighting, these buildings are designed to make the most of natural light, however, the users of the building should be responsible for taking advantage of it or not leave lights on, in case of not being able to install motion sensors.

In terms of air conditioning, they are designed to maintain an optimum temperature at any time of the year between 21 and 26 º C, however, if a window or door is left open for long periods of time, the efficiency for which it has been designed is not achieved.

It should be noted that this type of buildings arose because the price of energy was becoming a great weight in the economy of a building, pretending to obtain an independence and a lower exposure to the rise of the price of the energy.

The NZEB should serve as an example for new constructions and for measures to improve energy efficiency in current constructions. In KEIKEN we have an expert energy efficiency department in the implementation of measures that reduce energy consumption without reducing the quality of users in the facilities. These measures, in addition to carrying very significant economic and energy savings, reduce the Carbon Footprint and promote the preservation of the environment.

Energy audits make it possible to analyze and understand how an installation and its distribution in the different uses and sources of energy work energetically. It is the basis to be able to accurately determine the energy efficiency improvement measures that make the audited facility more efficient, more economical and more respectful and sustainable with the environment.

In KEIKEN we promote and bet on the improvement of the energy efficiency of the buildings, maintaining and/or improving the quality of the users and reducing significantly the costs and energy consumption associated.

From KEIKEN, as an Energy Services Company, we can carry out the energy audit, the energy certification and specify and carry out the measures to improve the energy efficiency of your business. Ensuring a reduction in energy consumption, maintaining and improving the present quality and increasing its competitiveness in the market.
