Our company and all Keiken suppliers must respect the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the conventions Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the conventions implementing it, as well as the recommendations of the International Labor Organization regarding the rights of workers in the performance of their activities.
In particular, Keiken and their suppliers shall promote and respect, internally, the following principles:
- Ensure the non-existence of all forms of child labor. Comply with all international, national, and local laws, regulations, and declarations,
- Ensure that the minimum age for employment is not exceeded.
- Ensure that there is no forced or compulsory labor of any kind.
- Not subject employees to any form of physical or verbal abuse or any other form of intimidation or harassment.
- Integrate criteria of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, by carrying out the following selection, promotion, access to training and any other merit-based people management practices based on professional merit and objective assessments.
- Not allowing any type of discrimination associated with ethnic or cultural origin, sex, gender identity, sexual choice, disability, nationality, religion, age, social origin, or ideology, among others.
- Respect the maximum working hours, as well as the minimum wages established by law and by the international conventions applicable in this field.

- The supplier must encourage the adoption of preventive measures that minimize the risk associated with the development of its activity, as well as train its employees in matters of physical and mental health, safety and well-being at work, so as to ensure their safety and that of those people in their environment who may be affected during the development of the activity.
- Respect and promote human rights, with special attention to the freedoms and rights of vulnerable groups, such as- Establish training, dissemination and awareness-raising measures to ensure that their health, safety and well-being.
- Guarantee the freedom of association and collective bargaining rights of its professionals, without any type of sanction.
- Establish training, dissemination and awareness-raising measures to ensure that its managers and employees know, accept and comply with Keiken's Code of Conduct for suppliers.
CONFLICT MINERALS POLICY
KEIKEN, together with its subsidiaries, is committed to corporate responsibility and respect for human and environmental rights in its own operations and in its global supply chain.
Keiken is committed to compliance with the Economic Cooperation and Development's Responsible Supply Chains in the extraction of Natural Filter Media.
As part of this commitment, Keiken ensures that none of the filter media supplied by Keiken is classified as conflict media:
- Natural Anthracite
- Natural Pumice Stone
- Natural Zeolite
- Pure Silica Sand and Gravel
However, as part of that commitment, Keiken is committed to identifying and eliminating from its supply chain any possible processes involving materials classified as conflict minerals.
To support our compliance, Keiken has adopted a Supplier Code of Conduct that requires Keiken's filter media suppliers take part of this commitment adopting actions to identify and avoid process that involves any materials classified as conflict minerals:
- Our suppliers commit themselves to identifying and eliminating the use of possible materials supplied to Keiken classified as conflict minerals that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups or non-legal organizations.
- Keiken suppliers are committed to working with their own suppliers and their supply chain to determine the source and origin of the Filter Media supplied to Keiken in order to avoid any products that may be involved in processes in which conflict minerals are present.
- Establish its own policies, due diligence frameworks and management systems for the traceability of filter media supplied to Keiken to identify and eliminate possible sources that interfere with minerals classified as conflict and cooperate with Keiken in its efforts to fulfill its commitment with the environment and good practices.
